Sheila and I were office mates for a number of years at the VA. After retirement we would get together for lunch at the Beach House in Encinitas. And maybe a trip to Marshall's to top it off. She was a dear friend and I have many fond memories of our time together. My sympathy to her family.

Jean - thank you so much for your kind words. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. My Mom was very fond of you as well and, over the years, shared many 'officemate' and 'lunch' stories with me about you. We miss her incredibly! Strangely...I don't know if you will received this...but I'm sorry to say my Brother, Scott, also recently passed away very unexpectedly at the age of 55. The only comfort I take is the belief that he and Mom are together and that Mom was there to greet Scott. Take care and hope you are well.

Dear Melanie,
Just happened to think of Sheila today and was pleasantly surprised to see your note. It was a shock to see Scott's death notice also. I live near my son in Poway after my husbands death in '13. I occasionally see a few old friends from the VA. Your mom was so proud of you and Scott and your families. Best wishes always, Jean

Sheila was a wonderful Mother in law...I truly enjoyed her company. She and I shared many summers playing golf with the Encinitas Women's Golf Association. Sheila was always the light of any gathering. She was an amazing grandmother to her grand son's and loved them dearly as well as her great grand children...they all miss her dearly. RIP Sheila, you will always be in my heart.
