Robyn Renee Shane, daughter of Robert Michael and Sandy Haley Shane, was born August 17, 1979 in Omaha, Nebraska, and died January 4, 2017 at Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, California.

Robyn was the first of two daughters born to Bob and Sandy and one son born to Bob. She was a devoted animal lover and was dedicated to caring for her Pomeranian, Bella, her rabbit, Henry and her Percheron draft horse, Caspian. Her younger childhood years were spent on her grandparents’ farm in Nodaway, Iowa. Robyn loved riding her grandpa’s horse, Pete and going choring with him. She always cherished the moments she spent on the farm with all the animals and with her grandpa Calvin.

She attended Pine Lane Elementary and Parker Junior High School in Parker, Colorado. Robyn was an accomplished fast pitch softball pitcher and showed her dog, PJ in advanced 4H dog shows. Robyn and PJ shared an unbreakable bond throughout her childhood. Robyn attended Ponderosa High School in Parker, where she was active in softball and band. She graduated with Honors from Colorado State University in 2006, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree. She began a ten year long career in the dental field after her graduation.

Robyn served as animal rights activist and was very passionate about protecting animals from mistreatment. She spent her later years traveling throughout the country and was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of whale watching in Washington. One of Robyn’s favorite places to be was at the Hotel Del Coronado in California with her loyal companion, Bella. This is where she spent her final hours.

Preceeding Robyn in death were her mother, Sandy Shane; and cousin, Derek Wendt.
Survivors include her loving father, Bob Shane; brother, Jeff Shane; sister, Andrea Melendez; brother-in-law, Matt Melendez; niece, Charli Shane; nephew, Cooper Shane; many cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and an abundance of amazing friends.

Robyn had a remarkable talent for making friends in many different circles. She was always surrounded by a host of people that cared deeply for her. Although Robyn’s life was cut short, we pray that she has found the peace she deserves.
