We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Wayne Francis Wagener. He passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Parker, Colorado surrounded by family and friends. Wayne was born on February 24, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri. He served in the Marines out of high school and graduated from the University of Kansas. Wayne married Marjorie in 1960 and they had three children. He joined the Air Force in 1961 and retired as a Major in 1978. Our dad loved to travel and lived in Australia, England and Germany working as an Aerospace Engineer. He enjoyed woodworking and stained-glass projects and was always cracking a joke. Wayne also loved community service. He had been a member of Parker Rotary, created wooden cars for Toys for God’s Kids, and was an active member of Parker United Methodist Church since 1978. He leaves behind his three children Wayne and his wife Kriss of Aurora, Colorado, Kim and her husband Mike Dolan of Brighton, Colorado, and Dana and her husband Rick Stephens of Aurora, Colorado. Our dad was a loving grandpa to Stephanie and her husband Jordan Williams of Hayden, Colorado, Mackenzie and her husband Alejandro Somoza of Dallas, Texas, and Tanner, Kate and Natalie Stephens of Aurora, Colorado. He had two precious great grandsons Arden and Henry Williams of Hayden, Colorado. He is also survived by his brother John Alexander and his wife Jan of Missouri. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marjorie, and three siblings. Wayne’s children will host a funeral service on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30 am. The service will be at Parker United Methodist Church with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to PUMC.
