Temple “Teekee” McClain, 72, of Parker passed away December 7, 2019 at her home.
She was born May 15, 1948 to Temple and Delores (Powell) Hastie in Pomona, California.
She met Donald McClain, the love of her life and they married December 27, 1974.
Teekee graduated from Northern Arizona University and with degree in hand; she began her teaching career as a student teacher on the Navajo Reservation. Always a teacher, Teekee taught in Colorado and California concluding her career with California Conservation Corps. When she wasn’t teaching, Teekee was active in the Democratic Party. To say she was an engaged Democrat would be an understatement. She was a fireball and enjoyed her activism and participation in politics. She also loved sewing and crafting, but most of all she loved her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Donald, her husband of 44 years; daughter Megan Cuevas and son in law Tony Cuevas of Austin, TX; son Erik McClain of Parker, CO; grandsons Antonio and Carson Cuevas of Austin, TX and her wonderful “Maggie Mae” her beloved Golden Retriever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Hastie and sister Johnnie Torguson.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Cremation was her request.
