Susan Gaye (McVicker) Thornton

Susan Gaye (McVicker) Thornton, 51, of Elizabeth, CO passed way March 12, 2019.  She was born October 9, 1967 to Jessie and Doris (Reyher) McVicker in Denver, CO.  After high school, she attended  Denver Institute of Technology where she earned an Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting.  In addition to her work as a draftsperson, Susan also owned a roofing company.  She married Thomas Thornton, the love of her life in 1992. When Susan wasn't working, she loved to play pool, go to the movies, buy and sell cars and watch her beloved Colorado Rockies. 

Susan is survived by her husband, Thomas of Elizabeth, CO; mother, Doris McVicker, of Sterling, CO; son, Travis and (Angela) Thornton, of  Elizabeth, CO; son, Wade Thornton, of Elizabeth, CO; step-son, Spencer Thornton, of Simi Valley, CA; grandchildren, Chole, Brittany, Sophie, and Payton.  She was preceded in death by her father, J. Ellwin McVicker, brother-in-law, Gerald Thornton and daughter-in-law, Tamara Simons.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM,  Monday, March 25, 2019 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Both will be held at Harvest Bible Church, 826 S. Elbert St., Elizabeth, CO 80107.
