Steven Emery Lucas

Steven Emery Lucas, age 65, Lone Tree, CO. passed away May 11, 2020 at Porter Hospice in Littleton, CO.  Steve was born April 23, 1955 to Walter and Deloris Lucas in Rockford, Il.  His early life was in Byron, IL. attending Byron schools, excelling at sports including football and basketball, and graduating in May 1977.  He went on to attend Northern Illinois University in Business.  Steve joined Hampton Products in Rockford, IL. and then moved to Denver, CO. in 1984.  He formed his own company, Motion Technology, and built a strong regional sales agency in Precision Motor Controls, serving major customers such as Hewlett Packard, Storage Technology, and Hunter Douglas.

He is survived by brothers, Scott (Kim – Wisconsin – Nephews: Mike, Chris, Dave) and Bradley (Julie - North Carolina – Nephew Dave, Niece Jill).  Brother Todd previously deceased in 2017.  Steve enjoyed golf and good humor with his friends and business associates.  Always up for a friendly golf round, a beer, and fun amongst friends.  He always had a sarcastic smile on his face and a “smart remark” for those friends.  Services and burial to be held this summer in his hometown of Byron, IL.
