Sharon Louise (Cailing) Rezek was born July 20th, 1955, in Denver, Colorado. Sharon has always loved dogs. The first pet she had was a German Shephard named Buttons. She would play with Button every day. They would play on the swing set. She taught Buttons how to slide down the slide and how to sit in the swing. They would make mud pies together when not playing on the swing set.
When Sharon was a teenager, her grandfather Ben bought her a red and white 55 Ford. She loved that car. After she obtained her license, she would take her best friend Geraldine cruising downtown, just like in the movie American Graffiti. Her favorite hang-out as a teenager was a drive-in called the Scotchman. Home of the Horrible burger and Hot Cookie. She would go cruising every night with her best friend.
When Sharon was in her twenties, Sharon bought a car that won World of Wheels in which her friend painted a Kaleidoscope on a Corvette. That was another car she loved. She married and had a daughter named Michelle. She loved being a mom and taking her daughter to different places. Some places they would go are the Denver Zoo and Westminster Mall. At the Westminster Mall, in the center would be hot air balloons floating up and down.
When Sharon was in her thirties, she bought two Akita’s. Sumo and Miko. She loved Sumo and Miko very much. She used to spend hours brushing their fur and taking them for a walk about the neighborhood. During this time, the first time, she took an airplane and went to San Diego, CA, to meet a friend. She loved to go to San Diego. She also traveled to Eureka, CA, to meet another friend. She didn’t like Eureka that much. She still preferred San Diego. She loved the ocean and the tropical flowers. She loved taking the two-hour harbor cruise around San Diego Bay.
Sharon enjoyed attending her daughter’s musical performances when she was in her forties. Her daughter was in a band, orchestra, and choir. Also, in her forties, she met the love of her life, Brian. She went to Minnesota to meet him for the first time and fell in love with him. Evelyn, her mom, her daughter, and Sharon packed everything up and moved to Minnesota so she could marry him. They married on October 20, 1998, in an intimate ceremony in the house. They spent every day together. They both loved watching Big Brother, Survivor, and Gold Rush together.
Sharon became very fond of conversion vans when she was in her fifties. She bought a conversion van with tan and cream faded paint, which she loved. They would take that van to enjoy bird-watching with Brian. They would go to Cherry Creek State Park and look for animals of all kinds, deer, beavers, hawks, and eagles. Sharon also loved going to Rocky Mountain National Park to look for animals and to see the wildflowers. She also loved staying in a cabin along Fall River in Estes Park.
Sharon still had a love for dogs. One day while watching the news, she found a dog re-named Lucky at the Denver Dumb Friends League. When Brian got home from work, they raced down there to see if they could adopt Lucky. They spent some time getting to know lucky, and they adopted him. Sharon named Lucky Teddy. Sharon loved that dog till the end of time. They would spend countless hours together. Sharon thought that maybe Teddy would like a buddy, so Brian and Sharon bought a poodle puppy and named him Cola. She loved Cola very much.
Sharon, in her sixties, loved to watch true crime dramas to figure out who had done it. She also loved online shopping. She was very excited when In N Out came to Colorado. That was her favorite place to eat in California.
Sharon had a great sense of humor and always tried to make everyone smile or laugh. She always found it a challenge to get doctors or nurses to laugh. She had a generous heart and a kind soul. She always tried to do whatever she could to help people and animals in need. She loved her family with everything she had. She will be missed by all.
