Raymond Tominez Obituary

On October 21th, 2023 our precious husband, father, brother, and friend, Raymund Tominez
had his amazing life come to an unexpected end. He died peacefully in his sleep.
Ray was born in Dupac Asingan Pangasinan, Philippines and passed away in Parker,
Colorado. His military father (Frank Tominez) brought him to Guam in 1974 with his mother
(Jovita Tominez) sister (Vergie Baldonado), Brothers (Jesse & Frank Jr. Tominez). Sister
(Teresita & husband Orlan Layco} arrived later. Ray moved to Alaska in 1982 then to San
Diego California in 1984. In 1988 while living in San Jose he met his wife-to-be (Tammy
Schultz) at Red Lion Hotel working as a sous chef. When his brother Frank came to town
Ray asked Tammy if she wanted to go to San Francisco sightseeing with his brother. When
she said yes he wrote his phone number in a snap pea he was shucking! In 1994 they got
married and had 3 children (Brandon, Brianna and Bryan Tominez) Many know him as a
respectable and notable Chef because he’s always cooking for everyone. He always made
a whole banquet for 25 people even if we only had 6 people come over. He even cooked a
full buffet with 4 entrees and 2 whole pigs for his own wedding! After cooking in hotels and
restaurants for 20 years he made a courageous life decision to provide for his family more
and moved to the coolers of Sam’s Club. Ray celebrated his 25th year at Sam’s as a
butcher, something no person has ever accomplished at his club yet. He was also a capable
carpenter during his free time, and left his family with a beautiful backyard to remember him
by. He enjoyed motorcycling and dirt bike riding. Sturgis, South Dakota was his favorite
vacation, he wanted to camp there every August! He lived an exciting life and took his
family on many memorable adventures around the country at least once or twice every year
whether it was camping or hotel stays. He just came back from the Schultz family reunion
Alaska cruise on Aug. 25. there he got to spend a week with his brother in law (Mark &
Lisa),Sister in law (Kim) niece (Samantha), Sister in law (Donna), Sister in law (Paulette &
Pete Kibler) with nieces (Kristen & Rachel) and nephews (Patrick & Thomas) Right before
the cruise he cooked a BBQ when nephew (Jeff & Faith Fritz) came to town. Ray got to
spend time with sister in law (Darlene & Joel Fritz) and niece (Danielle) with children (Jax,
Maverick, James & Kyle). Sept.20-26 he got to spend time with his 2 sisters Teri & Vergie,
brother in laws (Orlan Layco & Fred Baldonado), Nephews (Darwin & John) Ray got to sit
back from cooking and enjoy Chef John’s delicious Benihana Dinner! Oct 10-12 Ray’s
brother Frank and sister Teri got to enjoy camping in the camper in front of the house talking
about the good old days. Oct 13 & 14 he relaxed in the hot springs of Glenwood Springs
with his wife, brother & sister. He thanked his wife for the best time he had with his family,
then took his family to the airport on Monday, went to work Tues-Fri and never woke up for
work on Sat. He always supported the ones he loved. When thinking of Ray one phrase
stands out: caring, whether it be making delicious food for his family and friends. If you came
to the Tominez house you were having lunch or dinner with us! Ray made sure all 3 kids
were picked up in a timely manner even though he worked a full day shift. He played the
role of Mr. Mom ensured that the health and welfare of the 3 kids was met. Ray played the
role as the family and neighborhood mechanic, if it runs on gas Ray can fix it. Referencing
you tube of course. Ray’s radiated energy always shined through with laughter and will be
truly missed by all, especially his immediately. Till we meet again. Ride Hard ...
