Nancy Jane Solheim Stanley
08-19-1937 to 04-14-2023
We can see her now, sitting in her chair, hand sewing the piping on a new pillow, contemplating the best timing to plant her beloved white geraniums, with a stack of scratch paper by her side waiting for the day’s To Do list. It was the simple things that brought her contentment. It was her family, however, that made her proud and brought her joy. She adored her grandchildren, and they adored her. She was a very accomplished woman, having earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University-Oxford and a master’s degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver. She spent many years as a second grade teacher and was greatly admired by her students and the faculty alike. She loved to read, sew, garden, design, travel, and she loved all animals, especially whales. Mom had a lively sense of humor and a roaring laugh. It is often said after people pass, that “they would do anything for anyone.” A truer statement has never been said of our mother, she was generous to a fault. Her warmth and kindness is so greatly missed, and we are all better people for having known her. Rest in peace sweet mother, we will love you forever.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Robin Jankiewicz (Michael) and Jody Cole (Jim), grandchildren Travis Cole, Brooks Cole, Alexandra Jankiewicz, and Michael Jankiewicz, sister Joanne Frank, niece Jennifer Hayes, and nephew David Frank (Carrie).
