Loyceine Grier Obituary

Marguerite Loyceine Grier, better known by friends and loved ones as Loyceine passed away May 31, 2022 in Highlands Ranch, CO she was 81. Loyceine was born in North Carolina in September 18, 1940. She graduated from Maryland High School in South Hagerstown, NC in 1958. Loyceine then went on to Mars Hill College and graduated with an Associate Degree in 1960. She then continued on to Wake Forest school of Cytotechnology in Winston Salem, NC in 1962. Loyceine followed on her path and was a Cytotechnologist for many years. Her hobbies included gardening, book clubs, Wednesday lunch brunch, she volunteered at the Denver zoo, and a partner at Flying X Ranch in Wheatland, WY. Loyceine was married to her loving husband and father of her children for 43 years before his passing in 2006.

Her claim to fame was that she partied with Elvis as a teenager.  After almost being runover by his Pink Cadillac, he asked “the little lady” if she would accompany him to wherever he was going.  Of course, she could not say no so she climbed in the horned Cadillac with Elvis and his bodyguard.  They had a wonderful ride and ended up at the beach where she danced the night away with Elvis and his bodyguard and who knows how many of his “closest friends”.  She was 17 at the time.

Loyceine is survived by her faith-full companion Penny, Daughter Christine and Son-in-law Greg Boynton of Franktown CO, Daughter Katherine Grier-Cooper and Son-in-law Charlie Cooper of Parker CO, Granddaughter Kayla of Colorado Springs CO, Granddaughter Aubrianne of Pueblo CO, Granddaughter Courtney of Parker CO, Great Granddaughter Violet of Pueblo CO, Brother Rondal and Sister-in-law Lynda of Stanley NC, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and long time friends.

Loyceine is predeceased by Herbert Earl Grier III her Husband.

Although she will be missed greatly, we find true peace and comfort in the knowledge that Loyceine has reunited with the love of her life and no longer feels the pain she was recently burdened with.  Rest in peace mom
