Obituary

Loraine Eisenberg Simons passed away in Parker, Colorado on July 24, 2023 at age 91. She was a beloved wife, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, sibling, relative, and friend to many. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1932 as Loraine Chases Eisenberg. She spent the majority of her adult life in Massachusetts, first in Newton and then Weston, before moving to Carefree, Arizona in 1990 where she resided until 2022 when she moved to be with her daughter, Amy Jane Simons and son-in-law Alan Lammle, in Parker, Colorado. She was a realtor for over 40 years, first in Massachusetts and then in Arizona where she continued to practice long after most would choose to retire. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Alan Simons, her mother Eva Chases Eisenberg, her father Harry Jacob Eisenberg, her brother Malcolm Chases Eisenberg and by an infant grandchild, Benjamin Isaac Manning Simons.

She is survived by her son Paul Simons and wife Perla of Brasilia, Brazil, her son Robert Simons and wife Susan Manning of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, her daughter Amy Simons and husband Alan Lammle of Parker, Colorado, her daughter-in-law Eva Simons and significant other Bob Garrett of Colombus, Ohio, grandchildren Jeremy Simons, Niko and Owen Simons, Matthew and Joshua Lammle, and great grandchildren Ruthie and Yael Simons Wohlner, and Maverick Lammle, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and incredible friends.

A celebration of Loraine’s life is being planned for next year in Cape Cod, one of Loraine's favorite places, which will include a special dinner at Sal's Place in Provincetown.

Donations in honor of Loraine Eisenberg Simons may be made to the Simons Gutman Foundation (Paul Simons - Lt. Hershel Gutman Foundation of Temple Israel Brotherhood) care of Temple Israel in Boston or to the Rabbi Discretionary Fund of Congregation Bet Haverim in Davis, California where her grandson Jeremy Simons, alongside his wife Bess Wohlner, serve as rabbis.
