Linnea McKenzie Obituary

Linnea Louis (Hanan) McKenzie (Linn), 79, of Lone Tree, Colorado passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, after a sudden heart attack.

Linn was born on November 16th, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Ida (Lindberg) Hanan. She graduated from Lutheran North High School in 1960 and attended Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa. She married her husband, Frank, in 1967. Linn and Frank raised four children and resided in Lone Tree Colorado for the duration of their life together.

Linn was preceded in her death by her parents (Harold and Ida Hanan). She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank McKenzie, her brothers, Russell Hanan and Norman Hanan, her children and their spouses (Suzanne McKenzie (Chris Stack), Heather Cassel (Doug Cassel), Brian McKenzie (Kellie Cotten McKenzie), and Keith McKenzie (Susie Welsh McKenzie); her ten grandchildren (Ashley Ostrowski (Phil Ostrowski), Kaleb Mondragon (Jayme Davis Mondragon), Kyle Mondragon, Chris Jenks (Regina Howell Jenks), Andrew Jenks, Riley McKenzie, Carsyn McKenzie, Ryan McKenzie, Chase McKenzie, and Zachary McKenzie), and five great-grandchildren (Samantha Ostrowski, Blake Ostrowski, Logan Ostrowski, Ellie Mondragon and Michael Mondragon), and many nieces and nephews.

Linn was a devout Christian and she loved leading others to Christ. She made it a point to see the best in others and was always there to listen and comfort her loved ones. When she wasn’t doing her daily devotions, she could be found doing crossword puzzles, watching murder mysteries, or enjoying family time at one of her favorite restaurants. Linn deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she dedicated her free time to helping them with whatever they might need. She went out of her way to make holidays special for her family; her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter, which always ended with her favorite game of Yahtzee. Linn was cherished in life and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
