Lindsay Belt Obituary

Lindsay Nicole Belt, 38, passed away on Friday, February 12,2021, at her home in Parker, CO, after a long and courageous battle with Gardners Syndrome.

She was born on May 24th, 1982 in Denver CO. She graduated from Ponderosa High School in Parker and Metro State College in Denver with a bachelor’s degree in business.

From an early age, Lindsay loved playing softball and was an amazing catcher, playing alongside one of her best friends from childhood, Amanda Hisaw.  Even though Amanda now lives in Chicago, they have always remained the closest of ‘Buds’.

She also had a close, loving relationship with Leigh Bolton (another one of her best ‘Buds’ from childhood) and Leigh & Mitch’s children – Jack, Tobby, Paige & Daphyne. As Leigh will tell you, Lindsay was amazing with the children, better than an Aunt and they adored her.

Lindsay was one of those rare people that you feel lucky to have had in your life. She has touched so many people in her short 38 years, from doctors & nurses during her many hospital stays to close family and friends.  She was the most loving, caring, selfless, kind and generous person. During her long battle with Gardners Syndrome, she never once complained and was always optimistic. She had a wicked sense of humor and a contagious smile & laugh. She made everyone in her life feel loved and supported.

Lindsay will be missed everyday by her mother and stepfather, Patty & John Fitzgerald; her father Jerry Belt; her brother Josh Belt; her sisters: Erin Sanders (brother-in-law: Andrew), Kristin Ungate (brother-in-law: Jason), all of Colorado and Riley Belt of Kansas; many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lindsay is preceded in death by her Grandma Burt, Grandma Max and Uncle Chad.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Lindsay’s name to Little Star Foundation, 174 Watercolor Way, Suite 103, B343, Santa Rosa Beach, FL  32459    www.littlestar.org

Lindsay has had a close friendship with Andrea Jaeger, the founder of ‘Little Star Foundation’ from the very beginning of her fight with this unrelenting disease. Right up to the end, she & Andrea had virtual movie nights. Everyone at Little Star Foundation has always been so supportive and loving to Lindsay and our family.
