Kyllion Perry Chafin of Parker, Colorado, born June 8, 1971, passed away at age 52 on July 29, 2023, from injuries sustained in an accident. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Chafin, and his two devoted sons, Dylon and Logan. His passing is also deeply mourned by his mother Glinda Chafin Shipley and her husband Ben, his father-in-law Alan Ray, mother-in-law Pam Ray, sister-in-law’s, Shelly Ray and Michelle Berthon, as well as uncles and many friends and former colleagues.
Above all, Kyllion will be remembered for his dedication to the welfare of others and for his keen sense of duty, first as a United States Marine, an Officer Candidate graduate and for twenty-five years as a Law Enforcement Officer. Throughout his law enforcement career, he received numerous letters of commendation, lifesaving awards and was recommended by the Denver Chief of Police in 2007 to receive the United States Presidential Medal of Valor “for exhibiting exceptional courage, decisiveness, presence of mind and swiftness of action regardless of his own personal safety to protect or save human life.”
After retiring from the Denver Police Department in 2020, Kyllion became the family domestic engineer using his extraordinary organizational skills. He was an avid golfer, extremely competitive and a fan of the Denver sports teams. He spent time with his wife and sons going on cruises, traveling, playing golf, participating in the World Series of Poker, participating in Jiu-Jitsu with Logan, in addition to talking every day with his best friend Dylon. He was the most devoted husband and dedicated father.
