Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Ehlers, 66, of Kiowa, Colorado passed away on June 13, 2019. Kenny was born on September 24, 1952 to John and Bonnie Ehlers in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Kiowa High School and went on to be a carpenter and worked in construction for many years. Kenny loved to go fishing and really enjoyed watching his Broncos and family was his true passion. He served in the US Navy from August 1971-September of 1975 and was a proud veteran.
Kenny’s family was quite large and he leaves many behind to celebrate him and cherish his memories: his mother, Bonnie of Kiowa, Colorado, a daughter Sarah Cornelius (DJ) of Schertz, Texas, a son Bruce Ehlers of Kiowa, Colorado, 4 sisters: Pat Story (Bill) of Jefferson, Oregon, Mary Reitan (Les) of Woodburn, Oregon, Lois Klodt of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Linda (Mark) Barnes of Kiowa, Colorado. Surviving brothers include: Mike (Polly) Ehlers of Kiowa, Colorado, David (Lea) Ehlers of Kiowa, Colorado, Donn (Christine) Ehlers, of Kalispell, Montana, and Karl Ehlers of Kiowa, Colorado. Five grandsons that survive Kenny include Felix, Simon, Noah, Greyson, and Abel and two step-sons are Rodney Tiner and John Robertson, both of Sacramento, California, along with many extended family members. He will be greatly missed.
Kenny was predeceased by a son, Kyle Ehlers, his father, John Ehlers, two brothers: Joe and Bruce Ehlers, and a sister, Ann Marie Ehlers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Parker Funeral Home to assist the family financially in the burial expenses for Kenneth.
