Jerome "Jerry" Spetoskey Obituary

Jerome (Jerry) Spetoskey October 21, 1944 - January 1, 2024 Parker, Colorado. Jerry Spetoskey touched the lives of everyone he met. His gentle manner made everyone feel like a best friend. He was a man of little words with a big heart filled with patience, kindness and most of all, love for his family. He will be so missed by his family and friends. Jerry was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 21,1944 and remained there with his parents, Mary and Vernon Spetoskey and six siblings until graduation. He attended Michigan State University for two years but then decided to serve his country and enlisted in the Army. Jerry spent from 1968-1969 in Saigon, Vietnam. After his discharge, he returned to Michigan and began working at the airport for United Airlines. This was the beginning of a long career with this airline which took him to Chicago and then to Denver where he opened the United Airlines Computer Center and met his wife, Marilyn. They were married and enjoyed many travels here and abroad. Jerry spent countless hours coaching his son’s soccer team and watching both Jamie and Ryan play baseball, softball, basketball and soccer. After retirement, Jerry’s love of golf led him to the new golf course in our community. He opened a new Hale Irwin-designed course in Highlands Ranch, Colorado 25 years ago with his 15-year-old son and worked happily there for seventeen years greeting and checking in golfers and playing often. Jerry passed away on January 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by sisters, Maxine Rutkowski and Caroline Deneen. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Wilt Spetoskey, daughter Jamie (Gary) Graham of Castle Rock, Colorado and son Ryan (Emily) Spetoskey of Parker, Colorado. He also leaves four amazing grandchildren who were the light of his life: Riley, Kaiden, Nora and Logan; his brothers, Dick Spetoskey and Steve Spetoskey, and sisters, Nancy Engle and Genevieve Spetoskey, all of Muskegan, Michigan.
