Jean Welsh Obituary

On November 1, 2019, Jean Marie Welsh passed away at home surrounded by her family.  Jean was born on February 19, 1967, in Honolulu, HI, to Gerri and Vernon Welsh.  She grew up in Colorado with one sister and two brothers.  She courageously fought a long and hard battle with ocular melanoma cancer.  Jean had a very positive outlook on life and never let her illness get her down.

Jean found a career in the IT world and worked as a software engineer and tester at ViaSat.  She was a very loving and strong mother.  She had a great passion for traveling with her friends and family.  She loved boating, cruising, camping and vacationing anywhere there was water to be found.  Jean took joy in watching the Marvel Universe movies with her buddy Fred the Wonder Dog.

Jean is survived by her parents, Gerri Obrecht and Vernon Welsh; son, Joshua Welsh; brothers, John (Betty) Welsh and Daniel (Marcy) Welsh; sister, Susan (Patrick) Cooke; nine nieces and nephews, and three great-nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to A Cure in Sight for Ocular Melanoma Cancer.  The address for donations is ACIS, PO Box 58113, Raleigh, NC, 27658 or you can donate on their website at www.acureinsight.org.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Parker Funeral Home, 10325 Parkglenn Way, Parker, Colorado 80138.
