Invite to Jacob Davies Memorial Service 10/21

First, we want to thank our community for such an outpouring of love and support. The stories you shared brought our family love, tears, laughter, and comfort during an extremely difficult time. We also thank you for your patience. The sudden loss of Jacob has shattered us, but as his birthday approaches, we will find the strength to come together and honor his life with all of you by our side. 

The service will be on Saturday, October 21 at 2pm at Whisky Gulch Event Center

36600 County Road 13, Elizabeth, CO 80107

The first hour or so will be a planned service. Afterward, we hope that the barn erupts with love and comforting memories as we all take time to celebrate his life. Please wear whatever you would have worn to hang out with Jacob. If you wish to share a few words that day, please email madisonmjackson2001@gmail.com. We know how much Jacob meant to everyone and want to offer opportunities to share our memories together. Please see below for additional details.

First, because the stories shared these past few months have brought so much joy and solace to our family, we ask that everyone bring a handwritten note (it can be something you already shared or something new) as your way of signing the ‘guest book’. The family plans to compile all of these to build a special memory book.

We also wish to honor Jacob’s love of learning, reading in particular, which was a very important part of his life. It played an integral role in his relationships and how he grew and evolved and saw the world around him. It helped shape him into the man he became and the way he treated others. We have Jacob’s extensive library and plan to cherish it. And to Jacob, that would mean to read and share his books. We will stamp them and would love for you to borrow one. You will be delighted to come across his notes once in a while! If you have a book that you have loved, a book you read to your child, one you read as a child, a book that Jacob told you about, or a book that makes you think of him, please consider bringing it with you to the memorial. We would very much like to add them to Jacob’s Library and continue to share Jacob’s love of knowledge and his desire to share in it with others. Our hope is to continue to grow his collection and come across books with lovely notes from you all.

Lastly, we are building a picture slide show and a music playlist for the service. If you know of any songs that Jacob loved or songs that make you think of him, please feel free to email them to svitaksarah@gmail.com. Or if you have any photos to share, please email them to toni_marie5@yahoo.com and we’ll add them to our slide show.
