Jack McGuire Jr. Obituary

Jack Whiting McGuire passed away peacefully in his home on March 31, 2020.  He lived in Parker, Colorado with his beautiful wife, Marilee (Miller) McGuire, who was by his side until his last breath. Jack was a kind, caring man who was dearly loved by so many friends and family he met throughout the past 88 years until an illness cut that life short. He will be greatly missed.

Jack was born on October 3, 1931 to Jack Whiting McGuire Sr. (father) and Lorain Michel McGuire (mother) in San Antonio, Texas. Jack grew up as an only child but had his cousin, Joan, who he considered a sister. Jack proudly served in the United States Air Force after graduating high school, then studied business at Baylor University. His passion for aviation lead him to his career in the airlines starting with Braniff International Airways. For over 20 years, he worked his way up from airport agent, to management, then becoming Director of Customer Relations. Jack loved working for Braniff, it’s also where he met the love of his life, Marilee. He was offered a job with Frontier Airlines as the Director of Consumer Affairs, and had done so well, Jack was named the President of the Worldwide Airline Customer Relations Association in 1983. He went on to work for the city of Denver at Stapleton International Airport as Manager of Public Relations. Jack finished his career as Manager of Terminal Operations at Denver International Airport.

Jack’s love for aviation was strong, but nothing was stronger than his love for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lorain (Michel) McGuire and his son, Brian Patrick McGuire. Jack is survived by his wife, Marilee McGuire from Parker, daughter Heather McGuire from Denver, son Kevin McGuire from Castle Rock, and son and daughter-in-law Scott and Michelle (Orlando) McGuire from Nevada. Also survived by his seven grandchildren; Gracie, Aidan, Amy, Jake, Leah, Emily and Jack.

Jack W. McGuire was the nicest guy you'd ever met. He loved his family, adored his wife, and would do anything for his friends. Airplanes were his passion, watching Notre Dame football was a must, and cheering on the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys with his family was near and dear to his heart. We will not say good-bye, but instead see you soon, for we know he is looking down on us from Heaven.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Jack’s memorial service will be postponed.  Dates and times will be provided through this website, Facebook and email.
