Herman Leroy Bigbey

Herman Leroy Bigbey (78) of Parker, CO was born July 5, 1944 in Tulsa, OK, grew up in Ajo, AZ, and lived much of his life in Colorado. A loyal employee of Phelps Dodge Mercantile in Ajo and later Safeway in CO, Herman would often visit with customers and even returned to the store to visit employees many years after he retired. He was proud of his Native American heritage and was a life member of the Moose Lodge. He was known as a quiet observer and was quite a story teller. Herman was loved by many and he loved children. He never turned down an opportunity to hold a baby or to smile and interact with one. As an avid sports fan, he could give the outcome of any recent event. He passed away in his home on Sunday, February 12, 2023. He is survived by his brother Larry (Carol) Bigbey of Parker, CO, Nephew David (Jenny) Bigbey of Elizabeth, CO, great-niece Ella Bigbey of Elizabeth, CO, and many friends & those who called him family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ella Bigbey and his brother, David Bigbey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 3:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bayou Gulch Building, 7160 Bayou Gulch Road, Parker, CO 80134.
