Dorothy received her associates degree at Westbrook College and shortly after moved to Colorado with a friend from New York. She joined the Tyrol Ski Club where she met the love of her life Richard and they were married on March 24, 1956. Richard and Jean purchased property in Parker, Colorado and built their dream house where she became a housewife and raised her 3 boys. They attended the original Parker United Methodist Church (Ruth Chapel) on main street where she volunteered for the XYZ Club and was on the Missions Committee. For a brief time, she also volunteered for the ski patrol at Vail Resort and taught her 3 boys how to ski at Meadow Mountain Ski area. After her husband retired, they traveled across the U.S. in their motorhome visiting friends and National Parks. They then bought their first sail boat (Last Hoot) and spent their winters in the Bahamas.
Dorothy is survived by the love of her life Richard, who she spent the last 68 years with, her three sons Mark (Susan) of Pagosa Springs, Rod (Starlene) of Winter Park, and Jon (Karen) Winter Park.
