Diane Regina (Thompson) Popson

Diane R. Popson, 78, passed away peacefully September 14, 2021 on a beautiful fall day in Colorado. Born in Ravenna, OH to Roy and Sylvia (Reese) Thompson, Diane was a 1961 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.  Diane retired from Kent State University and was a member of Twin Falls United Methodist Church.  She moved to Colorado in 2020 to be near her son and family. 

Diane was a woman of enduring Christian faith who loved family gatherings, trips to Cook Forest, PA and playing multi-hand solitaire. Family and friends will miss her witty, sarcastic sense of humor and distinctive laugh. Diane cherished her dogs, named her cars, loved skunks and frogs, and enjoyed shopping in small towns with her sisters and friends.   

Diane was a determined, compassionate, and loving person who valued her family above all else.   

Diane is survived by her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons: Rob and Cynthia Tkach (Andrew and Alex) of Sedalia, CO and Andrew and Shannon Tkach (Greyson and Branson) of McClean VA; loving sisters Starr (Jack) Beaudoin of Franklin, TN, Dawn (Harry dec.) Carpenter of Kent, OH; many beloved nieces and nephews and her former husband, Stanley Tkach of Yorktown, VA  

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband Francis E. Popson of Kent and her sister Patricia Garrison of Kent.  

A private graveside service is planned at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio. 

Diane’s family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their care in her final days. An extra special thank you to Castle Rock Assisted Living for your loving care and compassion.  You treated Diane like family and we are forever grateful.
