Diane Theresa McCans

Diane Valunas McCans, 62, of Castle Rock, CO, after beating cancer passed away from complications of subsequent surgeries on Sept. 2, 2021.

She was born April 1, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY, moved to New Jersey as a child, and spent the majority of her life in Monmouth County where she attended St. John Vianney High School. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Patrick McCans, in 1978.

She was a loving mother and devoted wife who always put the care of others in front of herself. She adored animals and never hesitated to help those in need. Passionate about cooking, she not only fed her family but also neighbors, friends, and local organizations like the Millstone Twp. Fire Department. Although usually quiet, she always knew how to brighten a room with an unexpected wisecrack. She moved to Colorado in 2014 with her husband. She enjoyed exploring the mountain trails and shopping locally with her children and an iced mocha latte.

Diane is survived by her husband Patrick; her children Eric and Teri; her brother Charles Valunas; close family Mike, Annette, Michael, and Christopher McCans; and her best friends Sharon and Steve Devlin.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 9:30, September 10, 2021 at Parker Funeral Home in Parker, CO.
