Charlene Endsley-Burge Obituary

Beverly Charlene Endsley-Burge was 73 years old. She had lived in Aurora Colorado since 2004. She loved her children, grandchildren, family, friends and church. She was a friend to everyone she knew and would help anyone who needed it. She loved beauty pageants, gardening, watching movies, traveling and her church. She spent many years teaching Sunday school and helping with Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Charlene was always young at heart as evidenced by her last trip which was to Disneyland in November.

The world was blessed the day she was born on March 9, 1945 in Chickasha Oklahoma. She grew up there living with her grandmother’s and on aunt’s farm. Charlene graduated from Tuttle High School in 1963.

In June 1964 she married her high school sweetheart Bill Pittenridge.  She had three children while married to Bill: Robert Anthony Hall Pittenridge, Richard Brandon Pittenridge and Tawana Cheryl Kelly. Later in life she met the love of her life John Thomas Burge. They were married in November 1991 and had fun traveling around the country together while she was working for Coates Field Services. John died in November 2006.

Charlene started working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a secretary after she graduated from high school. She advanced her carrier with hard work and education becoming one of the first women Branch Manager within the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. When she retired after 33 years, she held the position of Assistant Chief in the legal and business services division. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Science and Art of Oklahoma and her master’s degree from Oklahoma City University, as she said, “all while raising three children and a husband.”  In 1993 she went to work for Coates Field Service, a right of way consulting firm based out of Oklahoma City.  She retired from Coates in 2003 and moved to Colorado to help with the grandchildren. She then worked for Universal Field Service as a relocation specialist for the next nine years. when she retired for the third time in 2016, she expanded her part time accounting business to include right of way services and continued working as a consultant for the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Charlene was preceded in death by the grandmother who raised her, Martha Letisha Wills, by her father Herman Eugene Endsley Senior, her mother Elsie Fawn Smith, her sister Barbara Ann Smith, by her Aunt Bea Janssen and by her loving son Robert Pittenridge.

Charlene is survived by her son Richard Pittenridge, his wife Christine Pittenridge, their children Caitlin Herman and Nicholas Herman; by her daughter Tawana Kelly, her husband CJ Kelly and their daughter Ashley Kelly; by her brother Herman Endsley Junior and his wife Kay Endsley; by her sister Ronda Warren, her husband Charlie Warren and their children Chaz Warren, Chase Warren, and Casie Hendrix.
