Bonnie May Overlease Moe was born September 15, 1949, at Flagler, Colorado, to Charles Edward (Ed) and Lola May (Smelker) Overlease. She passed to her Eternal Home November 19, 2020.
Bonnie attended school in Burlington, Colorado, from first through ninth grade, tenth at Valley High, Platteville, and graduated from Idalia High School in 1967. Later she attended Pikes Peak Institute of Medical Technology graduating in 1976. She worked at the hospital in Phillipsburg, Kansas for a year before relocating to Aurora, Colorado. July 30, 1977, Bonnie and her children, Mike and Amy Sue, were united in marriage to Stan Lee Moe at his parent’s home in Littleton. Sons Brad Lee and Chad Edward were born to this union. Bonnie and Stan relocated to Parker, Colorado, where they operated their own business, S&M Foams, a roofing and insulation enterprise. Bonnie worked along Stan and later Chad and Brad at the job sites.
Bonnie was an avid outdoors woman and instilled the love of the outdoors in her family. She hunted and fished. She was first out and last in at the campsite on every outing. She enjoyed gardening and preserving food. She was a great cook and grill master. Parkinson’s slowed her down, but not her enthusiasm nor perseverance. She was very intuitive, welcoming, giving and a dedicated friend to many. She had a great sense of humor and a ready smile for all. She had a strong Faith in God and lived out that faith in her outreach to others.
Preceding her in death were Stan, Chad, her parents, in-laws Cecil, Jean, and Greg Moe, and brother -in-law Ed Pitts. WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an Angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The Angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, And told me ”Welcome Home”. So when tomorrow starts without me, Don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
