Betty Plylar Obituary

Betty May Plylar, age 93, went to Heaven on Thursday, August 27, 2020.   Betty was born at her home in Chicago, IL on May 30, 1927 to Michael J Naddy and Jessie M (Brown)Naddy.  Betty lived in Chicago until 1996 when she moved with her husband and daughter to Elizabeth, Colorado.

Betty was a devout Catholic and a loving wife and mother.  She met the love of her life, Odell, in 1951.  She was married on May 29, 1953.  Her husband Odell has always told us”from the first time I saw her I said this is the gal for me.”  Betty met Odell on a blind date set up between their friends and they went to the stock car races.  They saw each other every day since that time.  Officially they enjoyed 67 years of marriage but knew each other close to 70 years.

Although Betty worked prior to her marriage she stayed home to care for her family.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  She put her whole life and soul into those she loved.

Betty was an animal and nature lover.  The moose was her favorite non domestic animal.  She loved to camp and cook hot dogs over the fire.  When home, she would spend her time sitting on the front porch, listening to the waterfall pond and watching the birds take baths.  She always said “we have the cleanest birds around.”

Betty is survived by her husband, Odell, daughter Peggy, sons Thomas and Michael, granddaughters Jessica and  husband Carey, Rebecca and great grandchildren Savannah, Nathan and Isaac.

All of the neighbors loved her.  When hearing of her death they said, “She was a feisty woman who they enjoyed spending time.”

Her family is devastated over their loss.  Betty is much loved and is missed by all.  Our only comfort is that she is now with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at her home on Friday September 4, 2020.
