Barbara Jean Cassetty Witt
April 14, 1933 – September 13, 2023 (age 90)
Barbara was born in Madison, Tennessee. She graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1952. She
earned her RN from Mid State Baptist Hospital. Her first job as an RN was at Baptist Hospital in Nashville
Barbara entered the U.S. Air Force on August 5, 1956 as a Medivac Nurse with a rank of Second
Lieutenant. She attended orientation in Alabama, Flight Nurse school at Brooks AFB in Texas then was
transferred to Madrid, Spain. She completed her military career at Scott AFB in Illinois.
Barbara met Arvid Witt through mutual friends in the Air Force and married July 12, 1962. She was
honorably discharged September 10, 1962. She worked for a short time as an RN in Denver while Arv
was on strike. They lived in Denver, Northglenn and Fort Collins Colorado, and 4 years in Annandale,
Virginia. In 2019, both Arv and Barbara moved in with her daughter, Kathi, in Parker.
We are so grateful to have had time with our Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Gigi and friend.
She loved bowling, gardening, traveling, sports and her church family. Mount Zion Lutheran Church
(Denver), Prince of Peace (Springfield, VA), Peace with Christ (Ft. Collins) and Trinity Lutheran Church
(Franktown).
Barbara was proceeded in death by her husband Arvid Witt. She is survived by her children, Kathi Witt,
Glenn (Laurie) Witt, and stepsons Steve (Betty) Witt, Corbin (Katherine) Witt.
Grandchildren Amanda (Jason) Stone, Melanie (Jon) Witt-Wilson, Maggie (Mike) Arb, Jane (Sainy) Witt-
Adel, Abbey (Bill) Witt-Jacobus, Joseph Witt.
Great grandchildren James Arb, Peter Arb; future great grandchildren Baby Boy Arb and Baby Girl Witt-
Adel.

3:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4740 N Highway 83, Franktown, Co 80116 - for service and celebration of life immediately following. The school at the church lets out at 3:15, so please arrive early to avoid the pickup traffic.
