William J. (Bill) Ress, 75, passed away on October 31, 2018, in Morrison, Colorado in Hospice Care at the Bear Creek Center. He was born on December 16, 1942 in Richland, MO, nestled in the scenic Ozarks of Central Missouri. He moved to Denver, CO. as a child where he grew to love fishing and the outdoors. He was inducted into the US Army in 1967 with distinguished service in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Sargent and was recognized with two Purple Heart Medals, a Bronze Star, an Air Medal and three commendations.
On August 14, 2004 he married his wife Judy Howard in Lakewood, Colorado.
His survivors include his wife, Judy, Lakewood, CO.; his children, Steven Ress, Longmont, CO; Bethany (David) McAllister, Loveland, CO; Rebecca (Todd) Storey, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Emily McAllister, Caleb Storey, Aaron Storey, Leah Storey, Rachel McAllisterstep-sons, Jonathan Honefenger, Houston, TX, Michael Honefenger, Aurora, CO. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 5 sisters (John, Linda, Pam, Jean, Judy, Terry and David) and by many close friends that he encountered throughout his life. Bill enjoyed metal detecting and was a member of the Gold Prospectors of the Rockies. Bill loved to laugh, tell tall tales, jokes, and stories. He had a reputation of being a prankster, convincing unsuspecting friends to check the blinker fluid on their vehicles. Bill worked in construction throughout his life and after retiring from a 26 year career at Coors, he returned to the construction industry for several years. Bill was devoted to the service of others and would always make time for a friend in need.
Bill is predeceased by his step-father Willard Myers, mother Mary Jane Myers and daughter Natalee Ress.
