Wayne Lewis Myers, loving husband and father,  passed away at his residence in Castle Rock, CO at the age of 92 on November 6, 2017. Mr. Myers was born in Springfield, OH and was a WWII veteran, serving as a B-24 belly gunner with the Army Air Corp. He graduated from the New Mexico School of Mines and had a successful career as a Professional Geologist and Mining Engineer. He married his wife of 52 years, Helen Jordan, in Kellogg, ID while working with the Bunker Hill Co. He retired as Mine Manager with the J.R. Simplot Co. in Pocatello, ID. After retirement he and Helen moved to Sequim, Washington. After a few years they returned to Boise, Idaho.  Wayne always referred to Idaho as "God's Country". He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and several professional organizations. He loved to bowl and earned a high score of 276 in his league in Boise. He also loved fishing and would enjoy weekends fishing for trout.  Travelling was a passion of his and he loved his trip to the east coast seeing the historical sites.  His family enjoyed many camping trips with him along the Olympic Peninsula, Island Park, and Yellowstone. His wife Helen preceded him in death in 2004. He is survived by his son, Warren Myers of Georgia, and his daughter, Deb Rister, of Castle Rock, CO. He is to be interred at the family columbarium in Boise, ID. The family requests any donations in his name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
