Samuel Alonzo Thompson

Samuel Alonzo Thompson, 78, of Parker, CO, passed away July 23, 2019.  He was born September 1, 1940 to G.J. and Laverna (Cooper) Thompson in Yoakum, TX.

He graduated from high school in Yoakum, TX, class of 58' before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Samuel married Kathleen Ozzello, the love of his life April 1965 in Raton, NM. 

When he wasn't working, Samuel loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting, playing and watching sports, gardening, camping and drawing.

Samuel is survived by daughter Jamilynn (Salvador) Torres of Elizabeth, CO; son Samuel H. (Elaina) Thompson of Parker, CO; grandson Justin (Amanda) Thompson of Parker, CO, grandson Estevan Torres of Elizabeth, CO; granddaughter Miya Torres of Elizabeth, CO; granddaughter Heather Thompson of Parker, CO; grandson Garrett Thompson of Parker, CO; grandson Vincent Thompson of Parker, CO; great-grandchildren Aubrey Rae Thompson, Emmylou Rae Torres; brother Gerald (Diane) Thompson of TX and sister Ellafaye Thompson of TX.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathleen Thompson and daughter Callie Rae Thompson.

Services will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area B.

A reception will follow at the home of his son, Samuel Thompson at 1:00pm, 5200 Denim Ct., Parker, CO 80134
