MaryJane Adams Smith, age 102, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on October 13, 2017. Having been born in Centralia, MO on September 19, 1915, MaryJane became a resident of Centennial, CO, where she lived until her death. She attended South High School in Denver, CO, graduating in 1933. MaryJane then went to college at the University of Denver, receiving her degree in 1937. On September 1, 1938, MaryJane married the late George Kay Smith. They remained married until his death on November 18, 2006. After college MaryJane became a 2nd grade teacher with the Denver Public School District. MaryJane was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and for hospitality at the Holly Creek Retirement Community. She was also an honorary mortar board for the Sigma Kappa Sorority. MaryJane is survived by sons, Dayton “Buz” Smith (Judy), of Parker, CO and Donald “Griff” Smith (Judy), of Aspen, CO, daughter Susan Rager (Ken), of Aurora, CO, grandson, Brian Andresen (Brenda), of Chester Springs, PA, granddaughters, Karen Miller (Brian), of Aurora, CO and Kelli Wilber, of Cheyenne, WY, and eight great grandsons, Easton, Adam, Trevor, Ethan, Jordan, Noah, Ryan and Shaw. MaryJane was predeceased by her husband, Mr. George Kay Smith.
