Marvin Frank Rogers, 77, peacefully passed away at his home in Aurora, Colorado on Tuesday May 28, 2019 after months of failing health. Marvin was born September 18, 1941 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. His dad was in the military, so he lived various places in the US -- finally landing in Aurora, CO during his teens. After graduating from Central High School in Aurora, CO in 1960, Marvin joined the U.S. Air Force. It was during his time in the Air Force while he was stationed at the Kunsan K-8 Air Base in South Korea, that he became pen pals with a girl in Chicago named Patricia. When Marvin returned to the states, he met Patricia in person, and they were married four months later. Marvin and Patricia were happily married and inseparable for the next 54 years.
Marvin was the “gregarious” one in the family and had an uncanny ability to talk to anyone about almost anything, but his favorite topic was sports. Marvin enjoyed watching any sports and was a devoted Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan. In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, golf, golf and golf… Marvin enjoyed golf so much that his retirement job after years as a Mortgage Banker was as a golf course marshal.
Marvin leaves his wife, Patricia Rogers; daughter, Deborah Burcham and her husband, Steven Burcham; granddaughter, Krystal Baker and her husband, Donald Baker; two great granddaughters Izabella and Olivia; grandson, Michael Rogers; granddaughter, Makayla Rogers; brother, Edward Bass; and sister, Fay Matlock; and his dog, Chloe.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Jim Bass; children, Donald Rogers and Michael Rogers; brother, Paul Rogers; and sister, Patsy Rogers.
