Janet Gail (Schandel) TerBest

Janet Gail (Schandel) TerBest, age 73, of Franktown, CO passed away with her loving husband, Harry, by her side on May 17, 2018. Janet was born in Oregon City, OR on July 22, 1944. She attended Oregon State University, graduating in 1966 with her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Janet taught elementary school for four years in both Oregon and California. After that time, she became the CFO of Black Gold Resources where she worked for 12 years. She was a fiber artist who enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, embroidery and other crafts. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Parker and of the local quilting and book clubs. On September 4, 1965 Janet married the love of her life, Mr. Harry TerBest, in Oregon City, OR. Janet is survived by her husband, Harry TerBest, of Franktown, CO; her sons, Brian (Beth) TerBest, of Belle Vernon, PA, Jason (Kelly) of Appleton, WI and Aaron (Amber) TerBest, of Grand Forks, ND; her brother, Terry Shandel, of Milwaukie, OR; and her four grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Noah and Axel. Janet was predeceased by her daughter Kathryn TerBest, who passed away at age 5. Janet was a wonderful, loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
