Denise Marie Iskra-Armstrong, age 53, of Parker, CO, passed away with her family by her side on October 30, 2017. Born June 7, 1964 in Berea, OH, Denise attended Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, CO, graduating in 1982. She then went on to attend Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, CO, earning an Associate’s Degree of Nursing, then on to Dana College in Blair, NE, earning her Bachelor’s Degree of Science. While Denise was in college she was a disc jockey for the campus radio station. Denise was a devoted RN, holding positions at many long term healthcare facilities as a case manager. She worked at Bayada Home Health from 2009-2013, where she visited and cared for her patients at home. Denise was a fanatic Broncos fan. She also loved to read, having thousands of books on her Nook. Denise loved to travel the world, taking in breathtaking sights anywhere she went. On October 20, 2001, Denise married the love of her life; Mr. Elwood “Chip” Armstrong Jr. at the Western Safari Ranch in Fairplay, CO. Reverend Patty L. Lucas acted as the minister at their wedding. Denise and Chip remained married until her passing. Denise is survived by her husband, Elwood “Chip” Armstrong Jr., of Parker, CO, her son, Ian Armstrong, of Parker, CO, her parents, Stephen and Anita Iskra, of Colorado Springs, CO, her brother, Stephen Iskra Jr. (Samantha), of Colorado Springs, CO, her sister, Lanette Mitchell (Maurice), of Kremmling, CO, her nieces, Sarah Iskra, of Colorado Springs, CO, Ellona Mitchell, of Sacramento, CA and Gwen Mitchell, of Rifle, CO, nephew, Maurice Mitchell Jr., of Edwards, CO, and great nieces and nephews, Aniaya, Andrew, Amina and Nevaeh, of Sacramento, CA.
In lieu of flowers please bring Broncos memorabilia to be displayed and cremated with Denise. For the safety of our funeral staff please nothing with batteries, glass, or aerosols.
A Celebration of Life is being held at the Mile Hi Church of Religious Science on November 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Food will be provided by the church, but please bring a side salad or dessert dish.
