David Daniels Obituary

David Brian Daniels, 65, of Castle Rock, CO. began a new adventure on August 6, 2019. David left this earth, going to his Heavenly Father, after a long battle with cancer. Born on January 25, 1954 in Racine, WI, to John and Arlene Daniels, Dave graduated from J.I.Case HS. He attended University of Wisconsin and Emory University studying business. His education, zeal, and natural talent for business blossomed into Camera World, a successful photofinishing business in Racine. He also worked in sales for Ilford as a regional sales manager, and was Director of New Ventures for Home Depot. Drytac was his final employer, standing strong with him and his clients during his illness.

But Dave was not just about work. He was a Rotary Club President, participating in the Business Exchange in the Netherlands. He owned and piloted a private plane, organizing air shows for the public. His photography hobby took him to professional sports arenas with the Milwaukee Bucks, and his love for traveling took him across the world. He visited his 50th state a few years ago upon cruising to Alaska. His passion for family genealogy has allowed a rich family history to be documented and shared, and his knowledge of geology was deep. He also learned to pilot his sailboat across the Caribbean, enjoying scuba and making many friends there.

By far Dave’s biggest passion is family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Thurman Barnett, four brothers Jim and Trudy from Orange Beach, AL, Dan and Alice from Somers, WI, Don and Liz from Racine, WI, and Jeff and Jean from Brandon, FL. His children include Eric and Monique from Cape Coral, FL, Amy and Kevin Lynn from Champlin, MN, Melissa Grigg from Racine, WI, Jonathan and Laura and Carsten Daniels from Parker CO, Brett and Sarah and Jon and Brittney in Trussville, AL. Grandchildren include Audrina, Falicia, Jordan, Taylor, Caleb, A.J., Caden, Parker, Lylah, Adelynn, Elyana, Owen, Everett, Samuel and Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John.

Gone but never forgotten, Dave would like to continue his legacy of loving and caring for others. Please consider memorials to Global Health Initiatives, Health in Sight Ministries, or Royal Family Kids Camp. He will live on in the hearts of all those who had the honor of sharing life with his kind and humorous personality. We love you Dave and miss you much already. We will see you in Heaven.
