Charlton "Vincent" Chaney, 59, has gone to be with his heavenly father. He passed away at Parker Adventist Hospital Monday, September 23, 2019. He was born February 3, 1960 in Jefferson County, Missouri to Thomas Chaney and Lillie Marie (Yates) Chaney.
Always a bright and inquisitive kid, Vincent was constantly busy learning and doing. If he didn't know how something worked, he would take it apart, learn it's mechanics and put it back together again until he had it mastered. Vince attended Parkway West High School in West St. Louis and then attended Parks Aeronautical College, graduating with an A&P Degree. It was Vincent's time serving his country in the U.S. Airforce that peaked his interest in flying. He loved the sky, flying and airplanes and spent most of his career as an aviation mechanic. Currently, he was working as a helicopter mechanic with Aerotech Aviation fighting fires.
Vincent was very bright and interested in so many different things. He loved music and taught himself how to play the bass guitar at an early age. After he learned he never stopped playing and spent many years playing in semi pro bands such as; The Tom Shea Band and Hijinks. No matter where life took him, he would find bands to join. Currently, he was playing with a local Blues Band.
When he wasn't working on planes, you would find him on the water where he and Laureen loved spending time on their Cabin Cruiser the "Miss Jamaica" at Cherry Creek Resevoir. Vince had many special friends in the boating community throughout his life.
He was a Historian who firmly believed the quote "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Vince also spent time on his Ham Radio being a certified operator. Vince's most current "project" learning to fly and take amazing videos with his new drone.
Vincent was a bright, inquisitive and caring man. He had a kind and beautiful heart that would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Laureen of Parker, parents Thomas and Lillie Chaney of Ballwin, Missouri, nieces Jessica Renz and Jenna Renz, special friends Mike and Paula Brennan, Chris Nied, Leigh and Dr. Lyn Markman Hanson, Bruce and Linda Spear, Patty and Ted Stallings, Jeff Nate, "Bub" Frederik and Rudy Duran.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister Alison Leigh Renz.
