Cary passed away on Tuesday July 16th, 2019.
She was born in Walla Walla Washington, daughter to Avery and Jean Wiggins. Cary is survived by her husband Dave, granddaughter Jessica and grandson Joseph, sisters Cathleen and Cindy and brother Clarence. Cary was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Brandy (2011). Cary grew up in both eastern and western Washington in small towns, later moving to Seattle and points north. She moved with her husband Dave to Denver in 1996 and made it her home until passing this year.
Cary started as a bank teller and moved up to administrative assistant and insurance sales to become a sales office manager. She attended Everett Community College with the goal of switching to a career in education. However, she became disabled with Systemic Lupus Erythematous in 1990, the first of many chronic health conditions she endured.
Cary had one child, Brandy Jean Wiggins, in 1970 and fought very hard to be an excellent single mother (and succeeded). She married Dave Willems in 1996; they met in college and married in while he was serving in the US Army at Ft. Polk Louisiana.
Cary’s loves were family, Christmas time and spoiling her kitty cats. She enjoyed spending as much time with her two grandchildren as her deteriorating health would allow. Cary was an excellent wife, kind and loving. She loved spending time with her husband and they had many happy cross-county road trips together being tourists and amateur geologists (‘rock hounds’).
Cary finally passed away from COPD, CHF and lung cancer. As always, she fought for every minute of life. She did not despair that life gave her a raw deal. Cary was grateful that life gave a second chance for happiness and she did not waste it.
