Billie J. Claycomb was born in Sweetwater Texas in 1929 and moved to Colorado as a little girl with her older sister Dorthy. Both girls moved periodically between Colorado and Texas living with their grand parents and mother, Lillian Jewel Campbell. Billie met Lawrence Claycomb in 1944 and the two were soon married in what became a 67 year love affair to remember. Lawrence and Billie raised three children in Aurora Colorado. Lawrence and Billie once owned the Stork Baby Laundry Service in Denver, a baby diaper laundry service along with Lawrence's older brother Keith and sister-in-law Dorthy Claycomb. After raising three children Billie worked as a geology technician in the oil and gas industry for a number of years including a time with the Duncan Oil Company. Always the devoted loving wife she was, Billie took care of Lawrence when he became ill and needed full time care over a period of 15 years. After Lawrence died in 2013, she found joy in making friends and remained totally independent until a major stroke eventually took her amazing, wonderful, precious life. Billie had many hardships in her journey in this life including poverty as a young girl not many could comprehend. She never complained she never felt herself a victim. She loved the Lord, she loved people and she loved life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Billie is survived by two children, Laurel- Rempel Claycomb and Ronnie A. Claycomb; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Billie was preceded in death by her son, Danny J Claycomb, her husband Lawrence and sister Dorthy Mullins.
Graveside service will be in Brighton, Colorado on Friday, June 21st, 2019 from 11:30-12:30PM.
