Ansel Richard Nelson, 89, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at Woodridge Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a medical procedure.
He leaves his loving wife of 62 years, Nelda Nelson; his children and their spouses, Jim and Deb Nelson, Jeanette Nelson and Chris Hatfield, Linda and Kevin Van Speybroeck, and Richard Nelson; His three grandchildren, Nathan, Shane, and Jason, And his six great grandchildren, Vanessa, Jason, Julia, Joe, Jessie, and Margaret.
Born and raised in Colorado, he was a life-long sports car enthusiast and loved having Saturday morning breakfast with his friends.
He was a 24 year US Navy veteran who served in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. After retiring from the US Navy, he was an automobile mechanic for 20+ years.
A military honors service will be held at Ft. Logan on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 9:15am, Staging Area C.
