Steve was born on December 17, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Chester and Rosalie Morlan. They lived in southern Illinois until 1964 when they moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico. He graduated from Robertson High School in Las Vegas in 1968. He shortly then after moved up to Colorado. He was a residential contractor. He was a true cowboy at heart - he loved horses and rode bulls as a young man as a hobby. He loved to hunt and fish. He really enjoyed working with his hands be it from building houses to picture frames. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He was creative and loved to write poems. He lived life to the fullest and loved his daughters and grandson with a passion. He had many friends whether it be that he just met them or for 50+ years. Henry Bo Diddley, Hank for short as he'd like to say, was his Jack Russell Terrier that was his best friend for the last 10 years of his life. He was 66-years-old when he passed away on August 5, 2017 at The Denver Hospice with both of his daughters holding his hands and telling him how much they loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Morlan; his daughter Heather Gamel; his daughter Tracy Stokeld; his grandson Dylan Gamel; his sister Jane (Dan) Taylor; his brother Jeff Morlan; his sister Julie Morlan; his niece Debbie (Joddy) Pettit and their children; his niece Jennifer (Mike) Lyons and their children; his niece Natalie (James) Martinez and their children; his nephew Cole Morlan. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester R. Morlan and his ex-wife, Marsha K. Morlan.

There will not be any services at this time but one hell of a party in the coming months. We will let you all know the details once we have the chance to plan. If anyone would like to do anything, please make a donation to The Denver Hospice in memory of Steve Morlan.
