Michael W. Carlson, 63, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on October 30, 2016 in Denver, CO.  Mike was born on August 25, 1953 in Omaha, NE, the son of Hyle and Lenore (Ulrich) Carlson.  In 1971 he graduated from Wentworth Military Academy, in Lexington, MO.  On December 21, 1974 he married Lisa Hirsch in Papillion, NE.  Mike was a telecommunication technician for USWest telecommunications and later worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory in the same capacity.  He was a loving husband and father.  He loved to sail, fly, ski, bike and even camping, even though most recently it was more like luxury camping rather than a canvas tent.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lisa Carlson, Santa Fe, NM; his mother, Lenore Carlson, Albuquerque, NM; son, Erik (Anya Eckert) Carlson; daughter, Kirsten (Roland) Zertuche, South Padre Island, TX; sisters, Danna (David) Malmberg, Papillion, NE, Debbie (Bill) Zerbe, Mechanicsville, IA; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was predeceased by his father, Hyle Carlson.
