Margaret Anne Shellene was born in Chicago in 1925 to her parents, Carl and Anna Shellene. She was younger sister to Gladys who was four years older than Marg.  She graduated from Austin High School and went on to attend one year of college at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL.

She met Carl (Bud) Sandberg at the Methodist church camp in Lake Geneva, WI during high school.  She married Bud on July 6, 1946 and became Margaret Anne Sandberg for the rest of her life.  Bud and Marg had three children, Pamela, Tripp and Dawn.

She was very active in her women’s group “The Links”, A Women’s Volunteer Service Organization, from 1946 to present.  She was a Chicago representative for ASSE, A Swedish Foreign Exchange program for many years. She was a member of the American Daughters of Sweden all her life.

She was active in Hinsdale Covenant Church while living in Hinsdale, IL from 1960-1999.  She and Bud moved to Parker, CO in 1999.  She attended Parker United Methodist Church after Bud passed away in September, 2001.  She was active at PUMC until she moved to Longmont, CO in August 2014.  She moved into Atria Retirement Community for 2.5 Years.  She then moved into Dawn and Steve’s home in May 2017 after an extended hospital and rehab stay from January to May of 2017.

Her main career throughout her life was being the most wonderful Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother to her family.  Her secondary careers were Floral Designer and Realtor.

She loved doing anything with her husband, her children and their families. Sailing with Bud, cross country driving, entertaining for all occasions - birthdays, holidays and especially, Christmas.  She loved cooking for everyone, arranging flowers and selling homes.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Parker United Methodist Church, 11805 S. Pine Drive, Parker, CO 80134.  A reception will follow the service, everyone is welcome.

Marg is survived by her children, Pamela (Vance) Belyea, Parker, CO, Tripp (Leona) Sandberg, Downers Grove, IL, and Dawn (Steve) Sviat, Longmont, CO; her grandchildren, Hannah (Rich) Segrist, Parker, CO, Justine (Andy) Natalie, Highlands Ranch, CO, Carly Belyea, Denver, CO, Carl Sandberg IV, Woodridge, IL, and Alex Sandberg, Downers Grove, IL, Jennette Swatkowski, Rockford, IL; great grandchildren, Maddie and Norah Segrist, Parker, CO, Cooper and Skylar Roberts, Highlands Ranch, CO; and great step grandchildren, Kyle and Thomas Natalie, Highlands Ranch, CO.

She was predeceased by her husband, "Bud" Carl Sandberg, Jr., her sister, Gladys Stanley, her father, Carl Victor Shellene and her mother Anna J. Shellene.
