Jean Claire (Girouard) Marten, age 84, passed away on September 29, 2017 at her home.  She was born on February 24, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Lester Charles and Margaret (Sullivan) Girouard.  After graduating high school, she married Vern Marten on August 19, 1951.  They were married for 66 years.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grams and Great Grams. Jean and her husband Vern raised 8 children.  She was very strong in her Catholic faith.  Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, Colorado and the beautiful outdoors, and loved dogs and tolerated cats.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Visitation in Elizabeth on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimers Association.

Survivors include her Husband, Vern, Parker, CO; Daughters, Kim, Cindi (Norm), Lori, Carol (Jeff); Sons, Doug, Jeff (Denise), Scott (Kathy); 1 Nephew; 12 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great  Grandchild (due in Jan. 2018).

She was predeceased by her Parents, Lester and Margaret Girouard; Daughter, Deborah Marten; Sister, Pat Fowles; and Nephew, Mike Fowles.
