James Irvin Cole, age 72, of Parker, CO, succumbed to cancer at his home October 19, 2017, with his family by his bedside. 

James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia, daughter Dena (Cole) Riley, son James Cole Jr., sisters Janet, Kathleen, Mary, and Lucretia, five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many more of his extended family. James was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a friend to all.

James was a practical joker who loved boats, cars, motorcycles and Budweiser. He served in the armed forces for six years. James worked at Brooks Towers and Buckley Air National Guard Base for many years, until he went on to work at Silverado Communications. He left his employment there to operate his own business, Controlled Access. James's hobbies included working on and racing boats, restoring cars and working in his garden. He was a kind man who was always willing to help anyone with any task, big or small, touching many people's lives in the process.

Services will be held at Parker Funeral Home, 10325 Parkglenn Way, in Parker, CO on October 30, 2017 at 10 AM. Online condolences may be left for James's family to read. Memorial donations in James's honor may be given to the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue at Coloradogives.org.
